Bet the Farm Winery was founded in 2006 by owner and winemaker Nancy Tisch. Started with an annual production of 100 cases and three wines, the winery has grown to a 1500 case annual production with a diverse portfolio of red, white, rose, and sparkling wines. In 2017, Nancy and her partner Kit Kalfs had an opportunity to purchase a 13-acre parcel of land in Trumansburg, NY. Beginning in 2018, they planted the Jacob Thomas Vineyard (named for Kit’s dad) with Lemberger, Cab Franc, Gamay Noir, Saperavi, and Dornfelder vines. They also built what has become fondly known as the “Big Blue Barn” housing their wine production and their tasting room. Nancy and Kit have developed a team approach to winemaking; their philosophy is to grow or source high quality fruit and guide it through fermentation, aging, and bottling to create fine and balanced wines.
