Wine Appreciation Classes
Summer 2010
Why learn about wine?
- It's an important part of our local culture and economy
- It makes your date think you're smart when you don't back away from the wine selection at dinner
- It will get you bigger tips if you appear knowledgeable about your restaurant's wine offerings
- It could prevent you from saying something like "Yes, I like a dry sweet wine."
- It's like learning to multiply - we encourage practice, practice, practice!
Once per month on Thursday evenings
It seems that our mid-winter series always persists. Last year we explored wines by region; this year we are exploring them by varietal:
- June 10th - Sparkling wines
- July 15th - Pinot Gris/Grigio
- August 12th - Dry Rose
Each class combines a brief introductory lecture, wine-tasting, and food pairings! The tasting is usually comparative to help us explore the many factors that influence the wine: climate effects, terroir, and stylistic differences for a given varietal.
Cost for the class is $20 per person; seating is limited. Call to reserve your seat today!
